VINTAGE FRIDAY - Polka Dots







Pequeños o grandes, los lunares siempre tienen ese look retro que me encanta.
Son una pieza clave en cualquier fondo de armario.
Si te gustan los lunares pero prefieres darles un toque más moderno,

Por cierto:
De donde viene el nombre en inglés, "Polka Dots"?
Pues es que los lunares se pusieron de moda en el mismo momento que la Polka y,
por eso, cogieron su nombre, siendo ambos muy representativos del gusto británico
de mediados del siglo XIX.
Una de las primeras referencias al nombre "Polks Dots" es en la revista Godey's de 1873.
The spanish name "lunares" comes from "luna" =  moon. But where comes the english name "Polka Dots" from?
Well, the name was settled because of the Polka dance's popularity at the time the pattern also became fashionable. They were both very much a part of British culture in the late 1900s.

    Si que tengo algunas prendas de lunares.

  6. Ya hice un post al respecto hace un mes más o menos y tengo que decir que los lunares me encantan!!

    Eso si, no me sabía la historia de por que se llamaban así y me ha parecio muy interesantes.
